New Imaging Features in DotImage Toolkit
A couple weeks ago, we demonstrated at the AIIM exhibition some of the new features we've been working on in DotImage 4.0 (our imaging toolkit for Microsoft .NET developers). We really turned some heads, and now that the beta is just days away, I'd like to share with you what some of these features are, and how they will benefit our customers.
At Atalasoft, we spend most of our resources in research and development, and strive for 2 major new releases of our core product, DotImage, each year. This release has some significant new features. I've summarized what I feel are the most important below:
- Assemblies now built to both .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 versions
- Faster RAW image codec with support for more formats including DNG
- Refactored ImageCommand interface for improved usability
- Redesigned windows thumbnail control (supports horizontal scrolling and data binding)
- Improved thin client AJAX image viewer with live scrolling and tiled loading
- A new AJAX web thumbnail control
- New PDF Translator for OCR supporting hidden text with image
- New highly accurate Glyphreader OCR Engine
- Support for Abbyy OCR
- A new module, DotImage Advanced Document Cleanup for automatically cleaning up scanned documents (Line Removal, Border Removal, Auto Invert Text, Hole Punch Removal, Speck Removal, Blank Page Detection, Auto Invert Page)
- A new module, DotImage Advanced Photo Effects, with proprietary algorithms for automatically enhancing digital photos
I'll be blogging about these new features in more detail in the coming days; specifically the new modules that we have introduced and the benefits our customers will see from them.
Or, if you'd rather see in person and will be at TechEd in Boston next week, please stop by. We'll be exhibiting at Booth #847
